Douglas was 9 points ahead of 3rd place Finn sailor Jorge Zarif from Brazil. Martin Robitaille played hard with the big boys all regatta and finished a respectable 6th overall in the 30 boat fleet.

The Radials were the last fleet out on the water today but it was definitely worth the wait! The battle was between Paige Railey (USA), Ireland's Murphy, Tuula Tenkanen (FIN) and Isabella Bertold, the sole Canadian in the Radial medal race. While all was looking well in the 2nd race of the day, Bertold and Murphy were flagged on the final downwind costing them both significant positions right before crossing the finish. With her podium position in jeopardy, Isabella had to pull out all the stops in the final race of the regatta and she did JUST that in a very close finish, she takes the win and captured the BRONZE medal.

ISAF Miami World Cup delivered good breeze in the high teens today and tested the sailors on this fifth and final day of racing for 2.4mR,Bruce Millar photo credit: Walter Cooper Sonar and RSX fleets. Canadian sailors across varying fleets passed the test today securing medals and race wins in the challenging conditions.

Bruce Millar put up a pair of 4's today which moved him back behind Pascoe (GBR) and Leibel (CAN), yet Millar's stellar performances throughout the week added up to a bronze medal at his first World Cup event since the 2012 Paralympic Games. National team member Jackie Gay moved up to 10th overall after an unfortunate start to her regatta. 2.4mR class proves once again to be a very competitive fleet with close points and elite level sailing.

Paul Tingley, crew Logan Campbell and Scott Lutes worked hard today to move into medal contention yet fell one point shy of the podium. Despite the outcome, this newly formed team sailed a very impressive regatta and is certainly a force to be reckoned with this coming year and beyond.

Miami conditions were a little less cooperative today as temps cooled down and winds fluctuated significantly during the course of the day. TheMartin Robitaille photo credit: walter cooper Finns were first out of the gate this morning and Canadian Greg 'Dougie' Douglas made sure he was 1st to the finish gate in Race 8, narrowly missing out in Race 7, finishing 2nd to Caleb Paine from the USA. Greg's solid performance today moves him into podium position, 2nd overall. Fellow Canadian Marty Robitaille is also hanging onto the front of the pack in 4th overall.

A nice gift for birthday boy Luke Ramsay who earned his first race win in the Nacra with crew Nikola Girke alongside a 3rd place today. These experienced sailors are using this regatta to fine tune their skills and knowledge on the catamaran. The scoring may look a little odd for this fleet as 10% penalties can be imposed for interference with racing boats, referred to as a DPI – Jury Imposed discretionary penalty.
