Athletes will be led into the stadium by Kingston’s, Simon Whitfield, who won the gold medal for triathlon in the 2000 summer games. The ceremonies are set to start at 9pm local London Time, or 4pm eastern standard.
The sailing doesn’t kickoff until Sunday July 29th, although the Stars and Finns are sailing a practice race Saturday. The final preparations of boats and bodies is all looking good, everyone is healthy and in good form. The majority of the athletes have completed their heavy lifting (preparation) and are in the final stages of tidying up loose ends.
