Canadian duo Gordon Cook (Toronto, ON) & Hunter Lowden (Vancouver, BC) just punched their
ticket to London qualifying in the 49er class at the 2012 49er World Championships. Cook & Lowden are the sole Canadians to make the Gold Fleet and a quick calculation determines that with 5 non-qualified countries within this fleet and 5 eligible berths at this event, Gordon and Hunter have secured their spot. We wish to congratulate these boys for qualifying for the team.
We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the relentless efforts of Jon Ladha & Daniel Inkpen (Nfld), in their pursuit for Olympic qualification. In fact, they came within 5 points of Cook/Lowden just missing the Gold fleet cut thus desolving their chances of Olympic qualification. Cousins Ladha/Inkpen are very fresh to the 49er scene and we look forward to their future in sailing. Another Canadian team who we will no doubt see in the future is Gooderham/Hogan.
